Calling all runners – we need your support! – The Great North City Games in Tees Valley – Saturday 7th September

The Great North City Games will be hosted, for the very first time, in the Tees Valley, right here in Stockton, on Saturday 7th September.

Stockton High Street will be transformed to welcome world-class athletes, including our very own Teesside Tornado Richard Kilty, to compete in a top-class live athletics event. The event will be broadcast live on BBC1. On the very same day we will also be hosting the Great Tees 10k, Junior and Mini runs and will be welcoming people of all ages and abilities to take part. On top of this, the High Street will feature a jam-packed events village to entertain all, and the river will be animated with a variety of planned activities.

We need your help and support to help us deliver this truly unique and exciting event!

We are looking for runners of all ages and abilities to sign up and take part in either the 10k, the Junior (4k) or the mini (2k). All participants will receive a t-shirt, a medal and a goody bag. The course is flat and fast – perfect for a PB – and we’ll have plenty of entertainment and cheering stations en route to keep you motivated! The runs will all take place in the morning giving you the perfect opportunity to join in and then enjoy the live athletics action on the High Street.

Places are limited, so sign up now to secure your place –  WWW.GREATRUN.ORG/TEES10k

Plus, we also have a great volunteering opportunity:

We would like to recruit a number of energetic and enthusiastic volunteers to support the delivery of the event from course marshals, water station marshals, visitor information staff, to event support staff.

It’s a great way to get up and close to the action and be an integral part of an exciting event.
