Cross Country season is back! BMHH kicked off the NYSD XC League in style, with a total of 22 members setting their alarms for an early Sunday morning in the fresh air. We pitched up our new tent, and even dug out (and swept the cobwebs off) our Billingham Marsh House flag!
Despite the recent rainfall, course conditions were ideal. Apart from a 20m section of puddle, the ground was firm and the skies were clear making it the perfect day – one that we will reminisce on in 3 months time when the weather isn’t so kind and we can no longer see the colour of our shoes.
Whilst for many of our athletes, the Acklam Cross Country is a reoccurring event – a somewhat yearly tradition – for many the day was brand new experience. The majority of our previous under 11’s are now under 13’s, meaning different, longer routes and older competitors. In the senior men’s race, we had 3-4 athletes experiencing their first Cross Country!
In the end, we’re proud to report a successful day for all runners. The results are fantastic across the board. See below for results and action photos!
