Snake Lane 10 – 24-02-2019

This Race Report was kindly written by Andrea Clyburn

On Sunday 24th of February, Twelve Billingham Marsh House Harrier members, representing each of the senior groups, travelled to Pocklington through thick fog, to take part in the 29th Snake Lane race.

A brilliantly organised 10-mile road race, that as the name suggests snakes it’s way around beautiful East Yorkshire countryside at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds. Not hard to see why it’s always a super-fast sell out.

And what an absolutely glorious day it turned out to be. The sun shone all the way around the stunning route. Who would have thought, tan lines in February?

Fantastic running and results all-round. With Some amazing PB’s for Tracy Maskew, Sarah Roe, Stephen Roe, Fiona Roe & Andy Love. With Sid Rudd shaving a big chunk off his 2018 time too. Also, a special mention to Mel Shaw for completing her very first 10-Mile race. I think we all earned those goody bags.

Meanwhile BMHH also had a great turnout out of both runners and marshals for the Trust10 Trail Run at Ormesby Hall, Middlesbrough. A free community event which takes place on the fourth Sunday of each month.
